JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking experienced and talented chefs, sous chefs, pastry chefs, cooks and kitchen hands to join our team at Adam D'Sylva's new venture in Alphington.  This is a full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment and be part of a highly skilled culinary team.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Key Responsibilities for Chefs:


● Plan and design menus with seasonal and local ingredients.
● Supervise kitchen operations and ensure efficient workflow.
● Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
● Monitor stock levels, manage orders, and control kitchen budgets.

● Ensure all dishes are prepared to Decca’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities for Cooks:
● Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications.
● Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
● Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
● Manage food storage and ensure minimal waste.
● Collaborate with the team to meet customer expectations.
Essential Criteria:
● Relevant qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Commercial Cookery for Cooks;
Diploma or higher for Chefs).
● A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
● Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
● Proven ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.

Salary range $65,000 - $80,000
